A walkthrough on how to set up a LinkedIn Business page for an Electrical Contractor.
Video transcript:
This is a quick walkthrough on how to set up a LinkedIn page for a company. We’ve got a customer called JPR Electrical and we’re setting up a new LinkedIn business page for them.
LinkedIn Images
The ideal logo size is 300 by 300 pixels. If it’s bigger it doesn’t really matter because LinkedIn will reduce it to the correct size. The cover image should be 1128 by 191 pixels. If the image you have is bigger you can move it around to position it. To add an image click the pencil icon and upload your cover image. Then move it up and down to position correctly.
LinkedIn Page Info
To change the other information click on the Edit Page button then click Page Info. Here you can edit:
- Company logo
- Company name
- LinkedIn URL
- Tagline which is a slogan about your company and can be 120 characters long
LinkedIn Website Button
You can add a button to your company profile and we normally make it Visit Website with our customer’s website link.
About Company
Clicking the Overview button open the company information section and you can put in a description of your business which can be up to 2,000 characters long. It works best if you split into several paragraphs and give some history on your business along with the services you offer and locations you cover.
Website URL goes in and there’s also a section for Industry. There isn’t an option for Electrician but the nearest are either Construction or Appliances, Electrical and Electronics Manufacturing.
There are also fields for company size, phone number and year founded. Under specialities you can add a list of your services, there’s space for 20 services.
